Join Date

This Condition located on the Membership tab in Search Builder is looking at the Join Date on a person’s Member Profile tab. This is the date that the person’s Membership process was completed.

If you are using the Membership Process in TouchPoint, the Status and the Join Date will be automatically updated once the person completes the process. If you are not using the automated process, you will have to update all of these manually.

Note

You can also find Membership information (and drill down to the details in Search Builder) on the Decision Summary Report.

Use Case

You want to find everyone who has a Join Date sometime during 2010. Select Join Date, then GreaterEqual and the date 1/1/2010 and add to the group. Then select Join Date again, and select LessEqual and the date 12/31/2010 and add to the group. When you run the query, the results will be everyone with a Join Date from Jan-Dec 2010. You might want to add another Condition as well, such as Decision Type.

No Join Date

You might find people who have a Member Status of Member, but do not have a Join Date. This does not happen when you use the Automated Membership Process in TouchPoint, but you may have records that were converted without that date. You can build a search to find those people and find out the date that they joined. Add the Condition Church Member Status Equals Member and then add the Condition Join Date, select Equal and leave the date blank.
