Registration Types
==================

The `Registration Type` is set from a drop down menu on the `Registration > Registration` tab of an Involvement. The main types for regular online registrations are

- Join Involvement
- User Selects Involvement
- Compute Involvement by Birthday

The default is *No Online Registration*. The tabs for `Fees`, `Questions`, and `Messages` under the `Registration` tab will not display until after you select a Registration type other than the default.

Basic Registration
------------------

Join Involvement
   For this type, each Involvement has its own link (URL) and the registrant is enrolled in the Involvement. The registrant is *not* presented with a dropdown list of choices, nor are they placed in an Involvement based on age and/or gender.

One Page Form
   This is similar to a Join Involvement, except that all information (contact info, questions, and payments) is completed in one page.

Master Involvement Style Registrations
--------------------------------------

User Selects Involvement
   For this type, the link (URL) is from a Master Involvement and not each individual Involvement. The registrant is presented with a list of Involvements from which to pick. The registrant is enrolled in the Involvement selected.

Compute Involvement by Birthday
   For this type, the link (URL) is from a Master Involvement and not each individual Involvement. The registrant is enrolled in the correct Involvement based on his date of birth and gender (optional).

   .. note::
      If a person is in the database, but does **not** have a date of birth on their record, they will see a message that no Involvements are available based on their date of birth.

Manage Subscriptions
   For this type, the link (URL) is from a Master Involvement and not each individual Involvement. The registrant is presented with a list of checkboxes for receiving newsletters and can check boxes to subscribe and can return to that page and uncheck boxes to unsubscribe. The registrant is enrolled in the Involvement representing that newsletter. They can enroll in several different Involvements on the basis of this one registration.

Special Purpose
---------------

Scheduler
   This is used to manage volunteer signups. It does not allow for questions.

Choose Volunteer Times
   This is used to manage volunteers who using a calendar format. It does not allow for questions and presents a special calendar.

RegisterLink Master
   Not fully supported. (12.1.16)

Record Family Attendance
   This is used to allow a family using a mobile device to register for an event, such as an Easter worship service.

   These three registration types refer to the legacy Online Giving platform and are no longer used. They will be removed in a future update.
