Nightly Database Backups

TouchPoint backs up your data nightly and preserves backups on a rolling daily, weekly, and monthly basis for up to 2 years. If you would like to receive a copy of the nightly backups, we support the Azure cloud provider. Just set up an account, pay the fee through the link provided at the bottom, then contact TouchPoint Support with the following information.

  1. Azure Storage Account Name

  2. Azure Connection String

Tip

To find this information, follow these steps.

  1. Go to https://portal.azure.com.

  2. Type storage accounts in the Resources search bar at the top.

  3. Click on Storage accounts under Services (not Storage accounts (classic)).

  4. Click + Create.

  5. Enter a name in the Storage account name field. This is where the TouchPoint backups will go (i.e. touchpointbackups).

  6. Set Preferred storage type to Azure Blob Storage or Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. This is required for a Blob container to exist. If you choose Azure Files, the backups will not be able to be stored in the container.

  7. Set Performance` to Standard.

  8. Choose the appropriate Redundancy. Generally, less redundancy means less cost.

  9. Click Review + create.

  10. Click Create.

  11. Click the name of the storage container you just created.

  12. Click Access keys in the Security + networking section.

  13. Click the Show button next to the Connection string to reveal it. Copy the value of the Connection string and paste it in the email to TouchPoint Support, along with the name of the storage account.

Our team will make the necessary configuration changes and you will begin receiving a copy of the nightly backups from that point forward.

Note

There is a one-time setup fee of $50 to script the backups to your account. Use this link to register and pay: Services Purchase Form
