First Recurring Gift
====================

This Condition, located on the `Contributions` category tab in Search Builder,
allows you to find people who started a recurring gift (a scheduled,
repeating contribution) within a date range you specify.

How to Use It
-------------

Enter a `Start Date` and `End Date` for the range during which the recurring
giving began. In the `Fund Id (or null for all)` field, enter a **Fund Id**
to look at a single fund, or leave it blank to include all funds.

Set the value to `True` to find those whose first recurring gift falls within
the date range, or `False` to find those whose first recurring gift does not.

Use the `Tax / Non-Tax` selector to choose whether to count only
tax-deductible funds, only non-tax-deductible funds, or all funds
(the default).

.. admonition:: Use Case

    You want to thank everyone who set up their first recurring gift during
    a recent giving campaign. Enter the campaign's date range, leave the fund
    blank, and set the value to `True`.

.. important::
    You must have the **Finance** role to get results from any Condition
    on the `Contributions` tab that relates to actual contributions.
    Without the **Finance** role, this Condition returns no results.
