Find Tag Emails¶
This feature allows you to take a list of email addresses and find the matching people in your database, adding them all to a Tag. This is helpful when you have a list of email addresses (for example, from a sign-up sheet, an external event platform, or another system) and you need to quickly identify and group those people in TouchPoint.
The tool checks both the primary email address and the alternate email address on each person’s record. If a match is found, that person is added to the specified Tag.
Note
You must have the Edit role to use this feature.
How to Use Find Tag Emails¶
- Step 1
Go to Admin > Tools > Other Actions > Find Tag Emails.
- Step 2
Enter a Tag Name in the Tag Name field. This can be a new tag name or an existing tag name.
If the tag already exists, the matched people will be added to the existing tag (current members of the tag will remain).
If the tag does not exist, a new tag will be created with that name.
- Step 3
Paste your list of email addresses into the large text box, with one email address per line.
Important
Enter only one email address per line. Do not include names, commas, or other data on the same line as the email address.
- Step 4
Click Submit.
After processing, you will be redirected to the Tags page with your tag selected as the Active Tag. From there you can review the results, send emails, or use any of the other Toolbar actions available for Tags.
Good to Know¶
The tool matches against both the primary email (Email) and alternate email (Email2) fields on each person’s record.
If multiple people share the same email address, all matching people will be added to the tag.
Email addresses that do not match any person in your database are silently skipped.
This tool does not create new records. It only finds and tags existing people.
