Months Since Last Background Check

This Condition, on the Volunteer category tab in Search Builder, finds people based on how many months ago their background check was approved. Set the Comparison, the Approval status, the number of Months, and the Service type to find everyone whose matching background check was approved within that time frame.

For example, most churches require a background check every 24 months. Entering 24 months finds everyone who did have a matching check approved in the last 24 months. To instead find those who did not, change the Match comparison at the top of the search to None.

The date used is stored on a person’s record under the tab Involvement > Volunteer tab in the Background Checks / Credit Checks section in the Updated column.

Note

Just using one search condition to find those that Match NONE to a background check in the last XX months will yield almost your whole database. Consider adding a second condition to narrow to those that DID get a background check in the XX months prior to the current period. Example below finds those who got an approved background check in the last 48 months, but not the last 24. So they are due to be renewed:

Approval options are:

  • Pending

  • Approved

  • Not Approved

Months - Enter the number of months back you want the search to include.

Service options are:

  • Based on the Type if you are using the Protect My Ministry integration.

  • Based on the Level if you are using the MinistrySafe integration.
