Family Has Children Age X and Under

This Condition located on the Family category tab in Search Builder will return all family members for families with a member who is the age you specify or under. Enter the age and select the Values of either True or False. If a person has a Position of Child and does not have a date of birth, will be considered a child in this search. The system will treat the null age as a zero age.

Use Case

One use case for this would be finding all church members with children who are not yet school age in order to invite the parents to an event targeted to parents of preschoolers. You could use the following Conditions:

  • Family Has Children Aged 5 = True

  • Church Member Status = Member

  • Position in Family = Primary Adult

The reason you would want to look for Primary Adults, is that there will be children who fit the other Condition. So, this would find all primary adult church members with children up to and including age 5.

You might also want to find adults who do NOT have young children. In that case, use False as the Value for Family Has Children Aged. This is a great way to find people to help in the nursery for an event targeted at parents.

TouchPoint has other Conditions that look at the family makeup in regard to children.
