Months Since Last Background Check¶
This Condition located on the Volunteer tab in Search Builder will find people based on the number of months since their background check was completed. Enter a comparison, the Approval status, number of months and type of background check (service type) to find those who will need another background check. The search will find those that match a certain approval status and background check type for a background check approved WITHIN the months designated.
Most churches require their volunteers to have a background check every 24 months. Using 24 months, for example, would find those that DID have a background check approved in the last 24 months. To find those that didn’t, change the Match comparison at the top of the search to None to find those that have not had one in the last 24 months.
The date used is stored on a person’s record under the tab Involvement > Volunteer tab in the Background Checks / Credit Checks section in the Updated column.
Note
Just using one search condition to find those that Match NONE to a background check in the last XX months will yield almost your whole database. Consider adding a second condition to narrow to those that DID get a background check in the XX months prior to the current period. Example below finds those who got an approved background check in the last 48 months, but not the last 24. So they are due to be renewed:
Approval options are:
Pending
Approved
Not Approved
Months - Enter the number of months back you want the search to include.
Service options are:
Based on the Type if you are using the Protect My Ministry integration.
Based on the Level if you are using the MinistrySafe integration
