Printer Settings for Check-In

Before you use TouchPoint Check-In for the first time after installing the software, you will need to set your printer settings for the size labels you are using. Depending on your computer and printer, these screenshots may appear a bit different for you, but the settings should be basically the same.

Whoever handles the IT needs at your church should have no problem setting up the printers.

If you have not purchased printers yet, take a look at our Hardware List.

Do not wait until the morning you plan to use check-in to set this up and test your printer. Perform the testing several days in advance, so you are certain everything is set up correctly. You want your members to have the smoothest experience possible, especially that first morning.

Step 1

Find the label printer on each Check-In PC with a printer attached, by going to Start > Printers and Devices.

Then right-click and select Printing Preferences
Step 2

Select New on the Page Setup tab.

This will open the dialog box for you to edit the Stock for the new label.

Enter a name such as 2-Inch Check-In Labels and enter the label size for the appropriate labels you are using.

For 2-inch labels
  • Width is 3.00 in.
  • Height is 2.00 in.
  • Exposed Liner Width should remain 0.05 in for left and right.
For 1-inch labels
  • Width is 3.00 in
  • Height is 1.00 in.
  • Exposed Liner Width should remain 0.05 in for left and right.

Click OK when you are finished.

Step 3

Now click on the Stock tab in the Printing Preference dialog box. In the bottom section named Position Adjustments, uncheck the box for “Use Current Printer settings”, and change the Stop Position to 0.70 in

If your printer has a cutter installed, set the Stop Position to 1.06 in. Also, set the Post-Print Action to Cut in the Media Handling section. Set the Occurrence to After job.

Click OK when you are finished.

Then click Apply and OK on the Printing Preferences box.

Now, you will want to test your check-in labels.
