Convert to Search¶
On various pages in TouchPoint, you will see a link or a button named Convert to Search Builder, or several links under a header named Convert to Search. In some cases, the data itself is the link. These links take you to Search Builder with the search built on the fly for you. The Search is built based on the context. If you have the box checked to auto refresh, you don’t even need to click Run when you get to Search Builder. You will be ready to send an email, export a report, and much more. Here are some of the places you will see this feature:
- People > Find
Select your filters, click Search and then select Search > Convert to Search Builder. Whatever filters you have selected on this page are the conditions used to build the search. You can even select one or more Status Flags.

- Organization > Meeting
From a specific meeting for an organization, go to the gear icon on the blue Toolbar and select one of the following: Guests to that meeting, members who were absent, or all attendees. You can also select a search based on a person’s response to an RSVP or Regrets Link. Those are referred to as ‘registered’.

- People > Contacts
On the Contact Search page, use any of the filters for Contacts, such as a date range, a Ministry, or Contact Type, then select Search > Convert to Search (Contactors) to get a list in Search Builder of everyone who made those Contacts, that is, the Contactors. Now you can send them an email thanking them for being faithful in ministering by making visits, phone calls, etc. Think how encouraging that will be to your staff and lay leaders.

- Reports > Decision Summary
On this report, the data and the data headings are the links to Convert to Search. The report displays how many people fit certain categories, such as those who became New Members, or those who were Baptized. But when you click any link on that page, you will have a search with the list of the actual people that fit that category. Every category on that report is a link. The screenshot is just a portion of what is displayed on that report.
